Our favorite crocodile hunter, Steve Irwin, died Monday morning off the coast of Australia. Irwin, 44, was filming a documentary in shallow water when he was stabbed in the chest by a stingray. He was one of the most influential Australians ever becoming an icon around the world.

Steve Irwin was probably one of the most influential people in my life. I never had the oportunity to meet the man, but I wish I had. It is na unrealized dream of mine to work for Australia Zoo in the herpatology department. My deepest condolences go out to all of Steve’s family and friends.
