Last time Sucre bid “Adios!” to the rest of the group and left with the backpack of money. Soon after, T-Bag escapes and both Michael and C-Note go their separate ways. When Michael finally catches up to Sucre and his motorcycle, it turns out that they were working together to get rid of T-Bag and C-Note and keeping the money for themselves. Unfortunately T-Bag pulled the “‘ol switcheroo” on them and filled the backpack with magazines while stashing the money away for himself. T-Bag’s acting his reaction was pretty funny. “No way I’m letting that…that dunder pete off with…FIVE!”

Meanwhile back in Chicago, Dr. Tancredi is approached in her apartment by a member of “The Company” to set her up for a fake suicide like her father. You might notice that this is the same guy that killed Veronica in the first episode of this season. Acting quickly, “Miss Tan-creedy” manages to escape by spraying the guy with bug spray and using the fire escape to leave the premises. She finally reaches a pay phone where she contacts one of her father’s buddies in the government so someone can come pick her up.

At the same time, Agent Mahone has been pulled from the field to explain to Internal Affairs Agent Richard Sullins how David “Tweener” Apolskis apparently took his pistol and ended up getting killed in the process. It seems that his “higher-ups” have become suspicious of his actions and believe he’s intentionally killing the Fox River Eight one by one. As of now, it’s becoming clear-cut that there are two factions within the government, the real one (relatively clean ones like in Without a Trace), and some separate underground evil faction that Mahone is part of.

Also at the same time, we return to our comical, portly, fired-CO duo of Belick and Geary. Ready to leave to go back home, Belick calls his mom, but is interrupted by a news report about the gang digging around in someone’s garage and decides to investigate hoping it will lead them to Westmorland’s $5 million. After speaking with the owner, she notes that T-Bag returned to the house, slipped her $100 and ran off with the rest of the money. How did those two guys get out of being tied up anyway?

Going back to Sucre and Michael, they decide that taking to the streets isn’t in their best interests so instead they ditch Cousin Petey’s motorcycle and continue on foot. Strangely, Sucre falls off a log while crossing a small river and gets stuck under it. As the water quickly rises, Michael has to devise a quick plan to get Sucre out of there before drowning and before the police catch up to them. Using the now useless motorcycle, he ties it to the log with a rope and proceeds to drive it back toward the river creating enough leverage for Sucre to swim out safely.

Lincoln finally arrived in Arizona where LJ has been released from prison and is wandering the streets with nothing to do. Looking to get some money, Lincoln pawns off ladies golf clubs for $80 and a cooler. Shortly after, a homeless guy goes over to LJ and asks him for money, then beats him up after LJ starts to walk away. It turns out that Lincoln gave the guy $50 to beat LJ up, but in turn gave Lincoln a chance to save him while F.B.I. agents are distracted. Lincoln really needs to button up that shirt and at least get something less suspicious than those over-sized sunglasses.

Coming back to Dr. Tancredi, she wanders a few feet away and someone that looks similar to her passes by only to be killed by a drive-by shooting presumably facilitated by her father’s “friend”. I thought it was pretty dumb that she would even try to get help from someone in the government since she already knows people can follow her easily and got to her father easily as well.

As we close this week’s episode, both Kellerman and Tancredi both eventually realize that Michael’s first crane spells out the word “RENDEZVOUS”. However, Dr. Tancredi has the second crane which spelled out “SUNDOWN HOT”. Missing the third crane she’ll have to figure out what Michael is telling her without that piece of information

We open the episode this week with a flashback to a childhood Sun who breaks a glass ballerina and blames the Maid. Her father, Mr. Paik, senses that she’s a liar, but she is steadfast that she didn’t break it. To quote George Costanza, “You don’t let somebody lie when they know you’re lying. You call them a liar!” Could this be a look into the “evil Sun” that we haven’t yet seen in the first two seasons?

As we jump back to the current time, Sun, Jin, and Sayid continue to sail Desmond’s boat around the island and finally clear the mountains to reach the dock where Jack and co. were captured by the Others. Sayid’s fake plan that Jin catches on to (he’s not really dumb) is to create a signal fire for Jack to see, but the real plan is to lure the Others out, and capture two of them for interrogation. I guess Jin would pick up at least some English considering that he’s been on the island for about 70 days with people that almost all exclusively speak English.

Flashing back to the past, Sun has an affair with her English tutor Jae Lee when Mr. Paik interrupts them and subsequently sends Jin after Jae to kill him. After Jin chooses to beat him up and yell at him to go to America instead of killing him, Jae decides to commit suicide anyway when he jumps off the building landing on Jin’s car killing himself. “Yes, splat. Exactly. Splat. That’s where I come in. On splat.”

Converse to Sayid’s plan, Ben’s reconnaissance team has already spotted the boat and plans to take it from them. Meanwhile at the Others’ camp, Sawyer and Kate are put to work at a rock quarry to do some seemingly pointless work. What is Sawyer doing anyway just pushing that wheelbarrow around without any other equipment? Did the Others think he would be too violent with a pickaxe to trust him with competent tools?

The first real twist of the episode comes when Alex Rousseau makes contact with Kate behind some bushes. We already saw her in a few episodes in season 2, but it’s the first time we’re seeing her this season is a possibly expanded role that might be the key to the group’s escape. She also asks about Karl, the caged guy in last week’s episode, and comments that Kate’s dress is actually her own.

As the episode winds down, Sawyer unsuccessfully tries to break free and the Others manage to steal Desmond’s boat leaving Sayid, Sun, and Jin on the beach by themselves. Lastly Ben reveals his last name as Ben Linus and that he’s been living on the island his entire life, but he can still get information from the “outside” world including what news events have happened since the crash. Henry even pokes fun at the Yankees by showing the Red Sox winning the World Series.
