Night at the Museum Theatre Report

Night at the Museum

Merry Christmas everyone! ^_^ It’s been a while since my last blog post since I’ve been pretty busy lately. Anyway I should be getting those Prison Break and Lost recaps up some time before the winter hiatus ends. I’ll also have some pictures and such in the gallery from the holiday as well as some from when I visited my grandparents in New York City.

Since I had these free movie tickets, from an online survey to teach your kids to stop smoking, that were going to expire on the 31st, I decided to use them up with my brother and go see Night at the Museum starring Ben Stiller. I had already heard some mediocre reviews from the critics, but rave reviews from regular people that went to see it over the Christmas 3-day weekend. To begin, I snuck in a Diet Black Cherry Vanilla Coca Cola and a small package of fat-free fig newtons into the theater as well as a pack of Breathsavers. Out of all the previews, the only one that was impressive was the one for Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer. I hoped they would do the CG for him right and I wasn’t disappointed. He’s probably the only reason to even consider watching it since the first movie was so awful. Lastly, some guy decided to sit right next to me instead of at least leaving one seat of buffer. I mean, if we were watching a movie in my house would we sit right next to each other?

Overall I thought that the movie was pretty good actually.  I had heard that it would be a flop at the box office, but it was really quite entertaining.  Although it’s not really something I’d pay to see twice or buy the DVD, I liked the premise of the movie and the humor was really quite enjoyable.  The highlight was probably an “athletic” Dick Van Dyke and the rest of his security crew go into action.  I won’t expound on this since it kinda spoils the rest of the film.  Yeah, it’s a little cheesy at some points, but it’s definitely the hit of the Christmas season.

Yul Wins Survivor Cook Islands!

My number 1 pick right from the start, Yul Kwon, won Survivor last night with a stunning 5-4-0 victory over Ozzy and Becky. Yul dominated the game mentally and managed to help all of his alliance members reach the final four.
