FYi you guys are so judgmental i mean, when you loose it do you rememebr what you say, you just say stupid things, and i am with Serena on this, she does not need to apologize to the line judge at all, things like that happens, if it was another person who did the tirade it would have been okay because she is not in the stature of Serena. and she was quite lady like not to discuss it further.

I stopped rooting for Serena because of her boorish behavior on the court. This was not her first tantrum or broken racket. And after a loss, it was always because she played poorly. It never seemed to have anything to do with her opponent playing well. Check out her press conferences. And in this one she plays it cute. A fitting end.

Unrelated to the Serena topic, I’m wondering where (if anywhere) they showed the Wozniacki vs. Wickmayer match. They didn’t even have it available online. My favorite Polish/Danish player should have gotten a little screen time. (fail)

U.S. Open 2009 – Good call, bad call, doesn’t matter… Serena Williams is a professional sports figure with endorsements, clothing lines, etc. and like it or not, she needs to conduct herself like a professional. Serena had every opportunity to apologize to the lineswoman at the press conference… but she didn’t. In my opinion Serena’s conduct was disgusting… she committed an assault on the lineswoman with her threats and physicality, lied to the WTA officials, and then glossed it all over at the press conference as if it were no big deal because she’s an intense player… sad sad evening for everyone. I do hope if young adults were watching with their parents, their parents had a discussion with them about how Serena’s behavior was unacceptable.

OK this is what I would say… In the entire history of the Willaims sisters playing, I have never seen either of them be inappropriate. From watching the replay several times it looks like a bad call. She had been called on the foot fault a couple of times prior to this. In my opinion the line judge was wrong, and Serena was pissed. Good for her I say. This kind of crap is what ruins sports, what I mean is personal opinion and not fact. In closing, this is one of the best famale matches I have seen in a long time. They should have let it play out.
