Nintendo DS Lite

Yay I finally got my Nintendo DS Lite in the mail today! I ordered it through eBay for my first ever purchase there even though I’ve been searching through there for good prices on lots of different things, but never found a good deal. The version I got was the Onyx (black) version of the DS Lite although initially I wanted the Polar White one. Late in my search, I found out that the white version got yellowish over time because of skin oil, so that was immediately axed as a choice leaving me with the black version.

I should be getting the rest of the accessories within the next few days, including the Hori Screen Protectors, the M3 Simply flash cart, and a Kingston 2gb micro SD card. As some of you might know, this is all in preparation for my trip to San Francisco, California. I’ll also be bringing my iPod Shuffle, Microsoft Zune (with lots of episodes of Perfect Strangers), and a Camera so I won’t be bored on the flight. :D

Starcraft 2!

Nearly a decade after the release of the original Starcraft, Blizzard announced Starcraft 2 at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in Seoul, South Korea. Here’s the announcement trailer:

I’ve been waiting years for a follow-up and according to gameplay videos, SC2 looks to extend on Warcraft III’s HUD style and add the Havok physics engine as well. Watch for many new units to be unveiled in the coming months. New footage of the Protoss indicate that each race will have some sort of super-weapon (Protoss Mothership! :o) as well. I’ll leave it to the video clips to showoff all the cool stuff.

Since it’s reportedly been in development since the completion of WC3: The Frozen Throne, the likely ship date is somewhere in 2008 (I still think they’ll pull a “Valve” and delay ’till 2009).

HSX 100 Million Milestone

So after playing HSX since early 2005, I finally reached the 100 million HSX dollar milestone! :D

Blog Updates

So this morning I finally updated my version of K2 to revision 407 from revision 345. Most of the changes are pretty minor and cosmetic and involving the backend code. There’s one bug where the rolling archive bar at the top doesn’t get the maximum pages correct, so I’m trying to fix it. (Fixed the problem by retrieving some K2 code. The problem was that the function they currently use returned the wrong number of pages.) Mostly I had to hack together all the changes I made for the other revision so everything looks mostly the same as before. I’ve also added a new ‘Quote’ plugin so you can quote another person’s comments. Lastly, I’m trying to get rid of the invisible border around the smilies, but not to get rid of the borders on all the other images (the css is linked together) (Fixed the smilies this afternoon with some CSS editing to isolate the smilies from the other images). That’s pretty much it for today.

On another note, I just started play Day of Defeat again after not playing it for over a year or two. So far it’s just as I remember it, but I still haven’t gotten back into the groove of playing so I’m not doing so well right now. Everything is just so dark unlike TFC and Counter-Strike, but hopefully a tweak or two can fix that. At least it runs well on my laptop instead of being really choppy on my old desktop that I used to play on.
