So I decided to follow my brother and CheapyD with starting up this 100 push-ups program. I think it’s a pretty neat concept and it gradually builds you up so you eventually make it to 100 after 6 weeks or so (emphasis on the “or so” ). So far I made it to 24 on the initial exhaustion test and completed Day 1 of Week 1. I think that’s about it for today since you’re only supposed to do what’s on the program. Maybe they want you to do leg exercises on the side or something because only the pecs are really getting a workout.
I’m also trying out this new Twitter Tools plugin, so some sort of twitter thing should go out when this post goes up. That should be it. The Prison Break series finale was yesterday (R.I.P.), the Survivor finale is coming up tomorrow, and 24 ends on Monday. After that So You Think You Can Dance is starting up on Thursday, then no more good shows after that. Now I can shift my attention to some these Xbox 360 and Wii games for the rest of the summer when I’ve got free time (looking forward to that Starcraft II beta coming out this summer as well).
So I didn’t have enough time to put up the Prison Break recap for this week yet. It should be done pretty soon. In the mean time, here’s a video of President Bush being translated by Little Richard.
“Mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce! Woooooooooooooo!”
So this morning I woke up at 7 AM and decided to do some reading and by 7:30 I felt like doing an upgrade to the newly released K2 0.9 theme. I had been using their subversion repository for quite some time and this is their first relatively major release in the last few months. There are a lot more features now, and it is easier to mess around with the code than before. At the same time, I finally created my own special style CSS file so that every time they have a new release, I just have to activate my style now and only do minimal editing to the source files.
K2 0.9 also features exciting new plugins including fully supported “Edit Comments” and “Quoter” plugins as well as fully implemented “Sidebar Modules”. Both the edit comments and quoter plugins will probably be the most helpful ones, while the sidebar modules help a lot on my end so everything in the sidebar can be controlled through a GUI rather than having to mess around with all the php code directly. I’m still working on finding a good WYSIWYG text editor for comments that looks nice.
There are still a few bugs that I had to fix on my own, but as of now, all the improvements are completely integrated (probably some other bugs floating around as K2 moves toward 1.0). As I learn a bit more about CSS I’ll probably be able to customize the blog a lot more.
Nothing more to say so here’s a video of Ok Go - Here It Goes Again on Treadmills
So this morning I finally updated my version of K2 to revision 407 from revision 345. Most of the changes are pretty minor and cosmetic and involving the backend code. There’s one bug where the rolling archive bar at the top doesn’t get the maximum pages correct, so I’m trying to fix it. (Fixed the problem by retrieving some K2 code. The problem was that the function they currently use returned the wrong number of pages.) Mostly I had to hack together all the changes I made for the other revision so everything looks mostly the same as before. I’ve also added a new ‘Quote’ plugin so you can quote another person’s comments. Lastly, I’m trying to get rid of the invisible border around the smilies, but not to get rid of the borders on all the other images (the css is linked together) (Fixed the smilies this afternoon with some CSS editing to isolate the smilies from the other images). That’s pretty much it for today.
On another note, I just started play Day of Defeat again after not playing it for over a year or two. So far it’s just as I remember it, but I still haven’t gotten back into the groove of playing so I’m not doing so well right now. Everything is just so dark unlike TFC and Counter-Strike, but hopefully a tweak or two can fix that. At least it runs well on my laptop instead of being really choppy on my old desktop that I used to play on.
