The Nicest WTA Player in 2005 was…

Kim Clijsters!  The signs for Serena’s lack of anger management were there at least 4 years ago.  Take a look at this poll I found that was taken in 2005 on TennisForum.com.

It’s a welcome sight to see two smiling players on the court during tonight’s final of mom (Kim Clijsters) vs. kid (Caroline Wozniacki).  And I don’t think we’ll be seeing any line judges being threatened tonight.

Update: Congrats to US Open 2009 Champion Kim Clijsters, 7-5 6-3 over Caroline Wozniacki!

Serena Williams Losing Because of a Foot Fault + Code Violation? No Problem!

“I didn’t say I would kill you.  Are you serious?”  Kim Clijsters was about to win the match anyway.  And Kim isn’t mean.  Looking forward to watching Clijsters vs. Wozniacki tomorrow in the final.

Soderling Reaction While Getting Destroyed by Federer

After getting down 6-0 5-2, here’s Robin Soderling’s “show of emotion” to double faulting during a lopsided surprisingly competitive match with Roger Federer.  Federer already won the first two sets in under an hour.

Update: Well, Soderling actually made it competitive at the end with Federer still winning 6-0 6-3 6-7 7-6.  Roger even added a little humor during his post-match interview.

Actual Worst Overhead Ever

I misspoke when I thought Petra Kvitova’s overhead was the worst I’ve seen from a professional a couple days ago.  Here’s Dick Norman during his doubles match with Wes Moodie vs. Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy.

Djokovic at the US Open

I wasn’t able to see Djokovic’s imitation of Sharapova and Nadal from last year live, but they replayed it during his match vs. Radek Stepanek tonight.  This year he did John McEnroe, then McEnroe did Djokovic and even played a few points!  Hilarious end to another great day of tennis.
